The Equipment Maintenance Department's focus is to provide safe, reliable equipment to serve Mobile County. The generators are used to insure the overall safety of Mobile County in the event of an emergency.
The Truck Shop performs preventative maintenance as well as repairs on heavy duty trucks. This shop uses a wrecker to bring in equipment for repair and uses a lowboy to transport construction equipment to project sites for the other Public Works Departments.
The Heavy Equipment Shop performs preventative maintenance, and repairs on all of our heavy construction equipment. This shop also works on a variety of diesel & gas engines, hydraulics, systems, air conditioning and electrical systems. Our Outside Mechanics also operate out of this department. They perform a wide range of preventative maintenance and perform repairs on the equipment and trucks located at Camps 1, 2, & 3 as well as on project locations around the County. These Shops and Mechanics are supported by our Welding Shop and also our Parts Purchasing Department.
